India doesn't do beige. Neither should your brand.

Ten days through India’s ateliers, palaces and bazaars, seen through my eyes as your guide and mentor. For interior design professionals who want to come home with something no one else in their market has.

YOUR OWN COLLECTION

Without the containers, the customs paperwork or the shipping nightmares.

Almost every interior designer dreams of their own collection. Almost everyone gets stuck at the first email to a factory: minimum orders in the hundreds, vague pricing, then three months of silence.

This trip turns that around. You travel with me to workshops where I know the makers personally. You design at the table, not through a PDF. And you produce in a quantity you can actually sell, without filling your garage.

You design, I guide you in the process.

Travel with me through an India most visitors never see. Design your collection side by side with seasoned artisans. Then watch it arrive at your door, in a small batch made just for you. Now imagine telling your clients: "I designed this myself."

WHY INDIA

Inspiration is everywhere. Originality is not.

Scroll any feed and you'll see the same sofa, the same palette, the same "new" trend, everywhere at once. India doesn't play along. Here, a single street holds five centuries of craft: stone screens carved by hand, block prints stamped by the same family for generations, colours mixed by eye rather than by code.

You're not here for souvenirs. You're here for the material, the maker and the story that make your work impossible to copy.

WHY WITH ME?

I'm not a tour guide. I'm a designer and mentor with a boarding pass.

I've lived in Pune (200 km's from Mumbai) for ten years and worked with color and interiors for over 25. I did a TEDx talk in India about how color guides your life and I designed a paint line inspired by the Indian spicebox and a carpet collection handmade in Badohi, the carpet capital of India.

I know where the workshops are that no tour bus ever stops at.

Here's the difference: at the end of every day, we translate what you saw into your own practice. What do you take, what do you leave, what becomes your story? So you don't fly home with two thousand photos. You fly home with a plan and your own collection.

The journey, in chapters

Your suitcase gets heavier. So does your brand.

Most trips end with photos. This one ends with a direction. I guide you to turn every encounter into something you can design, sell and talk about for years.

  • Chapter 1 | arrive -
Eyes open, judgement off. We look at color and materials the way India does: loud, layered and unapologetic.
  • Chapter 2 | the makers  -
Designing days in the ateliers. You're not peeking over a shoulder, you're at the table.
  • Chapter 3 | the palette -
Everything you gathered becomes acolor and material story that belongs to you and your brand.
  • Chapter 4 | the story -
What travels home with you and how do you tell your story

Who is it for?

and who it's not for...

It's a big yes for interior designers, stylists, brand owners, retailers and creatives from the interior design industry with their own practice, who are done scrolling the same mood boards as their competitors. Your clients already trust your taste. Now you want your work to be recognisably yours, without someone else's logo on it.

Who it's not for. If you want an all-inclusive with a pool, I get it, just not on this trip. (Don’t worry: every place I pick is special, with a touch of luxury you deserve). If you like ticking off ten sights a day, you'll get restless here. And if you're secretly hoping India is a bit like Europe: it isn't. That's the whole point.

THE PRACTICAL BIT

India is chaos. Your trip isn't.

I take care of hotels, private transport with driver, all food and drinks. You sleep in amazing places, eat where I eat, and travel in a group small enough to be let in everywhere. I can't switch off the horns. Everything else, I've got.

Included: all accomodation single occupancy (because after a day full of impressions, you’ll want your own space), all transport within india (also domestic flights), entrance tickets, food and drinks and me as your guide and mentor.

Not included: flight to India, visa, personal expenses and tipping, health/travel insurance.

Your collection: Production is not included in the trip price, because every collection is different. A set of hand-blocked cushions costs something else than a brass lamp or a hand-knotted rug. Before we travel, you’ll receive an overview of average prices per supplier, so you can plan your budget. And on the spot, you get an exact price per piece before you commit to anything.

Pricing: The final price is still being fine-tuned, but plan on $9,850 (excl. VAT) for ten days, taken care of down to the last detail.

You’ll meet trusted suppliers who already work with local designers. Together with them, you build your own design collection, while India does what India does best: surprise you, feed you and fill every sense you have.

What designers brought home from India

A journey that stays in your heart. And a business opportunity that keeps paying off for years.

While you build your collection, India does what India does best: surprise you, feed you and fill every sense you have.

No more than 10 people travel, so everyone gets real time with the makers, and with me. Tell me in a few lines who you are and where your brand stands. We’ll book a twenty-minute call, and afterwards you’ll know whether this is your trip, or not.

with a boarding pass.
